Guitar amps to mixer and PA?
Alright, I'm not 100% sure if this will work - but:
1. Use the headphone jack on my Orange Crush15cr amp.
2. Connect the amp with a 1/4" headphone jack to the 1/4" line-in on my mixer.
3. Turn everything on.
4. Have sound coming out of the amplifier AND the PA system.
5. Use effects off of the amplifier (pedals, EQ, etc,) but still able to hear the amp sound as a monitor.
6. Plug in my guitar.
Would this necessarily work? I'm not quite sure as I'm a newbie at electric guitar.
My other gear that I have is an Alesis 16 iMultimix mixer, Onkyo receiver, and 7.1 surround sound (if this helps?)
Thanks much
Heres how it would normally work.
1. From you guitar to you pedals. And from your pedals to you amp. It sounds like you got that part down.
2. If you don't have a 1/4" or XLR output on your amp, the best thing to do is set up a mic in front of your amp and run the mic to your mixer. Only use you headphone jack as a last resort if you don't have any other outputs on you amp or an extra mic to mic your amp.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Most big bands mic their amps.
