Religious Knowledge Test?
I've seen some Christian quizzes, and I thought it would be cool to have an Asatru trivia quiz.
What do Odin's two crows represent?
What do Odin's two wolves mean?
Why does Odin have only one eye?
Which was the way the Old Vikings used to consecrate a battle?
Wich is the name of Thor's wife?
Was Loki an Aesir? What did he accomplish as a God?
What do the Runes symbolize?
1. thought and memory (they are ravens not crows!)
2. ravenous and greedy
3. the other is in Mimir's Well, he put it there himself whilst hanging from Yggdrassil and learning the meanings of Runes and magic words.
4. some suggest by drawing valknuts or other runic devices dedicated to Odin, Freya and the Valkyries
5. Sif
6. No he was a Joten but became friends and resident with the Aesir. He gave birth to Sleipnir and had the treasures of the Gods made. He got the wall around Asgard built for free. He was responsible for the kidnapping of Idun, the death of Baldor, the death Thjaiz, the marriage of Njord to Skaldi, Odin finding out about Freya visiting the dwarves and the manufacture of Brisingamen. He is father of many, including Fenris and Hel.
7. Runes are representations of sounds used to write words, they each also have a word meaning depending on the rune set/language you use. The Elder Futhark has 24 characters and there meanings are not 100% clear. The Anglo-Saxon Futhorc has between 29 and 32/33 characters most of which have their meanings listed in the Old English Rune Poem. The Norse and Icelandic Futhorks have 16 characters and their meanings are found in the Old Norse Rune Poem and the Icelandic Rune Poem. Finally the Danish Runes are listed in the Abecedarium Nordmannicum however this goes into no great detail unlike the other three poems.
