What is a Strat Guitar?
Is it a name brand or type of guitar? I need more info for a Silent auction guitar donated with an amplifier and I don't have the item in front of me and the info on the sheet is minimal.

Strat is short for Stratocaster it is an electric guitar made by Fender. It is one of the most popular and most widely recognized guitars in the entire world. Many famous people such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn are known for playing Strats. Price ranges start at $300 and go to $3000. They are relatively high quality guitars and are great for both recording and playing live as they are extremely versital but are most common for rock music.
