I am looking for a single integrated circuit that converts AES3 digital audio to analog audio. Any takers?
I opened up a Whirlwind AES Qbox today and was very upset to see a Xylinx FPGA (I think) as the meat and potatoes of the circuitry. Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf part that does either D-A or A-D conversion? I am only interested in a 96k bitrate, 192k would be nice but in my application, it may be years before I use that!
For those of you who are concerned, I am very familiar with the rigid standards of the cabling and how to terminate the signal, but I want to know how to create the AES3 signal and convert it back to analog audio.
Actually, to my understanding it is a Xylinx LQFP package.
The AK4589 would work very well, though I was looking for just 2 analog in and 1 digital AES3 signal out, and vice versa.
Try AK4589 or go to http://www.akm.com/index.asp and find something that will work for you.
