Wii Component Cable/ Audio Connectors question.?
Does anyone know of Wii component cables that do not have the “splitter” on the cable stock which forces you to plug the audio cables in right near the HD cables. All the brands I looked at are like this. This matters because while most cords are 6-8 feet, after the splitter off the main cable you only have about 6 inches of slack between the 3 video wires and the 2 audio wires. This means I can not plug the audio cables into a surround sound system, only the rear inputs on the TV which is not surround sound. This effectively makes me chose between the high quality picture or surround sound. It would be great to find cables where all 5 wires are separate for the entire cord.
Hi, Steven. I haven't seen cables like this, and I had a similar problem. I ended up just buying a stereo RCA extension cord and using that to get extra length on the audio jacks to my sound system. I'm not a major audiophile, so I can't answer for whether this results in any serious sound quality degradation.
