What is the best way to achieve an around-the-house stereo system?
We have a large, long room down our house. It is an open room about 25'x16', containing the open kitchen, then dining area, then living room. In the living room we have a 42" flat-panel set up. It has our Xbox which we use for Netflix and last.fm radio.
My goal is to be able to play the radio (Or ipod, when it's plugged into the Xbox) on the TV, and have it play all through the huge room. One unified system playing music with as little cords as possible.
My secondary goal is to have a very, VERY simple speaker system around the TV. Two tower speakers on its sides at best. This is for gaming, movies, etc. I want to be able to switch to this system extremely easily.
I would like to know how to simply create this setup. I am not an audiophile, so sound quality is not a huge concern. We merely wish to listen to a song throughout the space.
Thank you!
First off you will need a receiver to connect the IPOD on also you XBOX plus connecting the tv to with with optical cables. The 2 tower speaker should be connected to the receiver. You can buy small speaker for stereo and mount them on the wall for the desired location you want to mount the speakers. If your stereo has zone speaker connection then you connect it to that and the tower to the main front speaker connection. Hope this will help you out.
