What are your favorite Piano Sonatas?
with the exclusion of Beethoven sonatas.
The Rachmaninoff Second Sonata (naturally), but not the revised 1931 version. This piece has to be heard live; a recording doesn't do it justice. But I'll link to to one nonetheless:
It's interesting to note that Van Cliburn uses his own melding of the 1913 and 1931 versions. Horowitz did a similar thing to it as well, even with the composer's approval. I completely agree with this - Rachmaninoff was probably overly-critical with himself at the time and, in my opinion, chopped off far too much music in his 1931 edition.
Then there are the Prokofiev "War Sonatas," 6, 7, and 8, of which 7 is my favorite:

I also like Ginastera's and Bartok's Sonatas a great deal.
For something more classical, I'd go for the delightful K. 330 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB9CVdN-v0Y ) and the dramatic 310 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrz_8mMMOpc ).
