What Are Your Favorite Albums - In Sequence of Preference?
If you are only familiar with a "portion" of his Career, that if Fine!!
Just put the Albums that you know.
In choosing you can either put your Favorites - or Choose Ones that you think may have had a Historical Impact at the Time of Release...
Can I make this any more complicated ??
Thanks ![]()

BONUS - Adding Comments about one or more Albums is appreciated, but not required.

i am all over this one ostrich
1. the stranger...one of the best and most complete albums of all time, he has every tempo covered on this one...a piece of absolute brilliance, billy at his best
2. an innocent man...also a very complete album, he really goes in a very different direction with it...he took something from all the singers he enjoyed in his youth to put it together, and he really does them all justice
3. turnstiles...this was probably billy at his absolute best in terms of straight up piano ballads and soulful songwriting...the best overall work of the pre-stranger part of his career
4. glass houses...this was billy's first full foray into less piano-oriented work, and he was still extremely successful and showed that he could handle the rock and roll scene
5. storm front...this was his best mix of fast-paced, rock and roll style songs and slower piano driven work...he really does an impressive job of shuffling them together on this particular album
6. piano man...obviously, his timeless classic title track here carries a lot of weight, and some of his best piano work is done on this album, and not just with the title track
7. 52nd street...probably the album with the very first signs of billy's entrance into a more rock and roll style(with big shot and my life), he still has some solid piano pieces on this one
8. the nylon curtain...a lot of diversity on this album, with one of the best songs about the vietnam conflict in goodnight saigon, a song about the plight of workers in allentown, and a sort of rock and roll type song in pressure, mixed amongst slower love songs and ballads
9. streetlife serenade...the highlight of this album is the entertainer, along with one of his most forgotten but most beautiful lyrical and piano pieces in souvenir
10. the bridge...modern woman got a lot of publicity for being on the soundtrack of ruthless people, but it isn't one of the stronger tracks on this one imo...this is the time, baby grand(a duet with ray charles), and a matter of trust are the strongest songs, especially lyrically
11. river of dreams...the title track brings up one of his weaker works...there didn't seem to be a lot of interest left when he made this album, although there are some good ones on there
12. cold spring harbor...his first album produced a great sign of things to come with she's got a way, one of his best love songs
13. fantasies and delusions...i just can't get into classical music, sorry
