Is the Peavey Rage 258 Guitar Amplifier a good amplifier for intermediate guitar players?
I've recently began playing guitar the past 4 months, and I'm in need of an amp upgrade. My budget is only £100 and My guitar teacher recommended the Peavey Rage 258.
The Peavey Specs are:
Specifications

Master 3-band EQ.
3-position voicing switch.
Tape/CD input for practice.
Headphone jack.
Dimensions (HxWxD): 16'' (406mm) x 13'' (330mm) x 8'' (203mm)
Weight: 11 lbs (5kg)

So is this a good amplifier for an intermediate player? I mainly play metal, but also play a lot of rock and pop rock.
If not, what is a good amp for under £100?
On the face of it it seems a good spec and there are some good reviews. If you do get it from Gear4music they are pretty good about refunding your pennies if the equipment is of poor quality or not up to specification. Make sure take the packaging off carefully and keep it in case there is a problem.
