Can you use inkjet photo paper on a laser jet printer?
Currently have a Kodax ESP 7 all-in-one photo printer but it's not giving me the same quality of picture as it was. The colors are subdue and not matching what it was doing before so I've decided to upgrade to a laser jet because I'm trying to start a small photo business and hoping it will better meet the demands placed on it. The problem I'm having is that I just bought a bunch of photo paper and ink for the Kodax and want to know if I can use the paper for the new printer. I have an art show coming up on May 9 and still have a lot to do to get ready for it so the printer issues really kind of suck at the moment.
NO !
If you do there are 2 major problems.
The coating of the paper does not allow the toner to be set into the paper texture and then "fused" in the fuser (warm rollers) causing poor quality print
The major problem comes in the fuser, where the coating often MELTS and ruins the fuser, costing $$$$ to fix. And this would NOT be under warranty !
