Can ya rec. me some good Jazz albums?
I don't know much about Jazz and I just started listening to it 2 months ago. These are the albums I've listened to so far and how much I liked them:
Charles Mingus - The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady (8.5/10)
The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Out (9/10)
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme (9.5/10)
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way (9.5/10)
Miles Davis - King Of Blue (10/10)
Miles Davis - Milestones (8.5/10)
Thelonious Monk - Monk's Dream (8.5/10)
I'm still trying to get into Bitches Brew. I generally tend to enjoy the older music of any genre, so anything less modern be nice. Don't hesitate to rec. a Jazz album that's different from the above if it's exceptional.
Ahhh, you haven't dipped into the lovely Stanley Turrentine. He's my love. Here are a few albums of his that I have:
- Soulful Saxaphone
- Live at Blue Note
- Ballads
I have others, but can't remember the album titles (have over 1,000 CDs)
Highly recommend Stan "The Man" Turrentine
