Advantages of 4 track cassette recorders, and multitrack digital workstations.
Well, it really all depends on what you need. If you absolutely require more than 4 tracks recorded at once, go pay the money for a decent 8 or more track digital system. But, I've heard a lot of really good recordings off a 4 track tape. My philosophy is, it's not the gear, it's the ear. There are advantages and disadvantages either way you go, and, it doesn't matter what equipment you use, it matters that you're making good music.
