What is the best way to get stickers (and the sticky residue) off of DVD cases?
Yes, I'm very picky about it. I also have to buy Widescreen only, and have my entire collection arranged in alphabetical order. But I can't seem to find anything that will take the sticky residue off of the cases after I peel a sticker off. I have tried rubbing alcohol with q-tips, just plain water, and everything else that I could think of, but nothing completely does the trick. Any suggestions?
Megatron - I hate the sticker residue too!
There are a couple of household items that will do this. My first pick is plain old WD-40. Use it sparingly though - just a little bit on a paper towel and rub the sticky area until it is gone. Another option is regular liquid dishwashing detergent - put a little undiluted on a paper towel and rub. WD-40 works better though.
There is a product called "Goo-Gone" but I have never tried it.
