Canon Elura 100 - Question About A Microphone?
I brought the Canon Elura simply because it allowed for external mic access. That is seeming like a waste as I can't for the life of me find one that the ambiguous description of compatable models asks for in the instruction manuel. Does anyone else have this model of camcorder with a specific microphone in mind?
The description of suitable microphones is simply this: "Look for condenser microphones with a 3mm plug and an external powersource."
I'm working on a really low budget (around £10 which equates to about $22) and am tempted to go for this:

If I'm not mistaken it uses a mount. That means a special mic.
You might try using a mic with bare wires taped to the shoe mount. That might work.
