Any Emerson, Lake & Palmer fans?
I don't know a whole lot about them, and I only know a handful of their songs, but I think they're worth mentioning. What do you think? Can anyone suggest some songs by them for me?
Great band. I know they are not everybody's cup of tea, but I love them. I saw them several times in the mid 70's. First group where I wanted to "do" each member! (Hey, I was 16 years old and well... Carl Palmer use to take his shirt off at shows and boy, what a body!!)
Anyways...some music:
Take a Pebble & Barbarian from EL&P (1st album)
From the Beginning & Living Sin - Trilogy
Still...You Turn Me On, Benny the Bouncer & Karl Evil 9 - Brain Salad Surgery
Fanfare for the Common Man, Closer to Believing, Lend Me Your Love Tonight, Nobody Loves You Like I Do & C'est la Vie from Works, Volume 1
Greg Lake put out a live cd called the King Biscuit Flower Hour and it is good. He has Gary Moore playing w/him and the version of Parisienne Walkways (Thin Lizzy) is awesome. I wish people would stop associating King Crimson w/EL&P. Greg Lake only did 2 albums w/them before they broke up.
Keith Emerson played w/a group called the Nice before EL&P. On their self-titled album, they do a 12 minute version of Bob Dylan's "She Belongs to Me". Pretty darn good.
Hope this helps. Thanks for asking about this great but unfortunately forgotten band. You've made my day
