how can I make a mic mute foot switch?
I'm looking to make something like this unit
http://www.radialeng.com/re-hotshot-dm1.htm
I need it to latch so one click for on, another for off.
the click of this unit must not make that pop in the audio line like you get with the mics on board switch.
I'm using a mic with XLR connectors.
Just wondering what wires I should put on a switch to disconnect them so the mic mutes.
tips, tricks, ideas...all welcome
thanks
The easiest thing I've come up with is a guitar volume pedal, and two XLR to unbalanced cords. The pedal makes for silent killing of the mic...as well as a lame ass but effective way to control the volume w/o running back to the board.
