How do I connect my amp to a PA?
I have a small 15 watt Marshall practice amp so I wanted to beef up the sound. My brother has a PA so I wanted to connect it but I wasn't sure how. My Marshall has a line out and a headphones out (both 1/4" connections). The PA is an Alesis Sumo 100 watt. It has 2 channels. The first channel has a mic in (with a standard XLR connector) and two 1/4" jacks labelled left and right. Channel 2 is similar, just without the mic in. It also has stereo in with two 1/4" labelled In and Out (I'm guessing you use the In connection but I'm making sure here.) The last connections are main output with two XLR connectors (male instead of female on the mic in) which are also labelled left and right. I'm guessing you go from line out on the Marshall to the In connection in the stereo in connection. I just wanted to make sure before I tried anything that could damage my equipment.
Thats a keyboard amplifier, not a PA. I dont know where he got the idea that it's a PA. Anyway, you have the right idea, but you might get some serious feedback from that thing, so use channel one.
