What is a good foam/filler to fill in holes in floor next to (hot) radiator pipes? Great Stuff?
I'm moving into a new apartment -- I noticed that there's a small gap around the radiator pipes to the floor below (I can see light coming up). The room is going to be a music studio, so I'd like to soundproof as much as I can. Foam into the hole seemed a good idea, but these are hot radiator pipes coming up. Anything you'd recommend? I saw info about "Great Stuff" from Dow, but not sure if it's safe to fill up and surround radiator pipes. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I find foam hard to control in small spaces. Try a good caulk that will remain flexible for the expansion of heat and cooling. Neither will do much for sound proofing.
