I hope so cuz after hours of watching a bunch of videos on how to do it I narrowed it down to this way.
PS: My monitor has speakers in it with the green tip cable so all I would have to do is connect it to the 3.5mm TRSF-to-Dual RCA Cable from my monitor?
If you can find the VGA cable for cheap, go for it.
Alternatively, you can use an HDMI to DVI cable and open up the standard av cable to use your audio. This might be a cheaper option if you can't find the VGA cable (and if you monitor has a DVI port, but most modern monitors do)..
