Will you add albums to IMPROVE this list of AMAZING Jazz albums released in the 1960's?
Please add one or more albums to improve this list of amazing Jazz albums released in the 1960's.
'Money Jungle (1962)' by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Max Roach
'Monk's Dream (1963)' by Thelonious Monk
'A Love Supreme (1965)' by John Coltrane
'Miles Smiles (1966)' by Miles Davis Quintet
'In A Silent Way (1969)' by Miles Davis
Here are a few of my favorites:
"Black Saint and The Sinner Lady" Mingus (1963)- Any Mingus album from the decade is amazing. This is my favorite. "Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus" is another favorite.
"Electric Bath" Don Ellis Orchestra(1967)
"Unity" Larry Young(1965)-
"Extrapolation" John McLaughlin(1969)- Features John Surman on bari sax. As close to a straight jazz album as McLaughlin ever came.
"Rip, Rig, and Panic" Roland Kirk- Richard Davis on bass, drummer Elvin Jones, and Jaki Byard on piano. Kirk's albums "Here Comes The Whistleman" and "Now Please Don't You Cry Beautiful Edith" are also exceptional.
