Do you need a license for a dj laser show?
im holding a party in a local village hall, my friends have aggreed to dj, one of them is a pro dj and is bringing a laser system with him to use. im just wondering do you need to have a license to operate one and also me and my girlfriend as the ones putting on the party do we need any insurance for this type of thing etc? is there anything we may need to be aware of to do this?
In the USA any laser over 4.95 mW requires a variance to purchase and operate.
If he owns high power professional lasers he should know this but they can be purchased of ebay without a license. They can be extremely dangerous if not used properly.
