How do I strobe an LED light? I have it powered with a AAA battery but would like it to pulse at 60+Hz?
Just about anything you've already considered or has been suggested here won't run on 1.5V. The 555 mentioned above requires at least a 4.5V supply.
Good news, though...
Here's a link to a circuit that requires only the one flasher IC and a capacitor to do exactly what you wish, and do it quite efficiently (should run nearly a month between replacement of your AAA). Although they've been discontinued, LM3909's can still be found out there. If not, you can substitute an NTE876 -- it's an identical I.C. -- and they've got the NTE876 at mouser.com and similar sites.

I'd recommend a 4.7uF capacitor to get you close to 60Hz.
