12 volt outdoor lighting question. Cost to have 10 18w par 36 lamps on a photo cell.?
I would like to know what it would cost a month to run these lights.
The other light i was looking at is a type 4 luxeon high output led unit.

This is 12 volt landscape lighting that runs off a transformer.
Your light runs off of a battery. Your solar cell will charge a battery, if it is a small output cell it will take longer to charge. If the battery is a larger than needed battery it will be used longer between charges than a smaller battery would.
Ex. I have a 10watt lamp on a 12 volt cell with an output of 2 amps(in direct sunlight) with a battery capable of running 5 amps continuous for 10 hours.
1. This battery will run 5 amps for 10 hours, so my .8 amps will run a tad higher than 50 hours.
2. My cell is only putting out 2 amps and my lights are using .8 amps, so to charge this battery in much less time I would use a larger output cell...maybe a 5 amp output ( in this example).
3. My battery will run two days without a charge, this is a good size between charges.
If I increase my lights on the string I am increasing the load. I need to adjust the cell ( output ) and the battery (storage) to meet the needs of the load.
My cost is simple math from this point....
