Can you use the same 1/4" female to 1/8" Male mono adapter for both microphones and headphones?
I'm thinking about buying a 1/4" female to 1/8" male mono adapter, so I can plug my microphone into my computer.
No. Well maybe... A microphone is a TS plug - Tip, sleeve. A headphone plug is a TRS - Tip, ring sleeve. There is an extra conductor in a headphone cord for two channels. You won't damage anything but if you use an adapter designed for microphones on a headphone jack you will only get one channel. The other way round it may or may not work depending in the exact configuration of the female jack which varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Again, it won't hurt anything so you might just want to try it and see.
