Condenser Microphone Stand?
I just bought a Samson C01U Microphone. It doesnt have a stand, so I will need to purchase a stand as well. I don't want a desktop stand, but rather a fullsize one.. Does this microphone need a special stand or would any microphone stand do? Here is what i'm looking at - cheapest possible..

Would this work?

The thing with condenser microphones is that they pick up handling noise far easier than a regular dynamic microphone. For this reason, the condensers are always used with a proper shock mount in studio applications. A pop filter is also used for vocal applications.
Most condenser microphones are designed to be used with shock mounts only and there is no way to fix them directly to a regular stand or boom. However, you can find some USB type condensers that can be screwed on to a stand and also some stage condenser microphones has these fixtures.
You don't really *need* a shock mount if you use a USB condenser for something like home based pod-casts or voice-overs. It is always recommended though, along with a pop filter. A good condenser microphone picks up things you won't believe - they are very sensitive...
