Studio Microphone??????
I want to get a studio microphone for Christmas but not like the $1,000 ones just a $100 - $120 one and i wanted to hook it up to my computer and I wanted to know if it was better to get a Microphone with a USB at the end or a microphone with a XLR cable (i think that's what it's called) with a USB converter?? Is the sound quailty the same?? And if you can recommend a good microphone in my price range that would be great:) PLEASE AND THANK YOU
It depends on what you want to record. 100$ USB mics are great for recording speeches and soft melodies but they only have small built-in preamps and can't handle that great range or that loud noises.
If you on the other hand buy yourself a 100$ mic with XLR cable, you might have to spend the same amount on a USB preamp. Still, you will notice a great difference between these two setups if you intend to record music.
