How do I set up a recording studio? I have some pretty strict guidelines.?
I have a budget of £5,000 for it. I already have an appropriate computer but that's about it.
I need to record 2 voices, a drum kit, an electric bass guitar, an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and a piano.
I think I want to record them by overdubbing in which case I won't need a microphone for every single one.
I need a lot of help with this, including which equipment, where to buy, and how to actually set it all up - with the cables and such.
Any help would be appreciated, I have looked on quite a few websites but without paying there aren't really any clear and concise ones.
Thanks.
- and i have cubase.
Hmm wrong category for a start.
I think you should go to your local music technology store for some good advice.
If you have a good computer you need some good software - cubase or protools. Then you need a good soundcard of workstation. Mic wise - for you vocal try an SM57 or something similar.
Not sure on the drums, as i say - go to your local store for advice, they will sort you out!
