If I buy a microphone cable with a jack lead, does that work through a bass amp?
I'm new to using all this equipment in music, only my band is playing a gig in two weeks and I've got my microphone sorted only I need to find a cable with a jack lead to play through a bass amp (which apparently works). It's cuz we don't have a PA yet.
Also if we need a bass amp for the mic, then do we need another one for the actual bass?
It will work, but it may not sound great (depending on how deep your singers voice is!!).
You will need an amp with two inputs or another amp for a second instrument/mic.
If I were you, I would look into hiring or borrowing a small PA set-up if you don't have one - this should not cost much and could make you sound much better.
If no-one can hear the singer, it's going to spoil the performance..
