They both seem to be the 'same' product, but i am worried that if i buy an ebay version, and it dosent work, I may end up buying a UX16 aswell and spending around £50. Has anyone had any experience with these kinds of MIDI to USB converters??? They both claim to do the same thing, but i dont know which one to buy.
Probably the same product or at least with similar features, I agree, but you should also consider Yamaha's warranty. I suppose it's 2 years full warranty but not sure if they're strictly following European laws. The unbranded product you've found on eBay - shipped from Hull, United Kingdom - should have the same but the seller announces 1 Year only (illegal inside Europe).
Another detail sometimes makes a big difference: Drivers.
