the last mic i used dint really capture much of the lower frequencies, possibly because it was a cheap sony tie clip on mic which was only open at the left and right nit the front like the one i recently bought which says its designed for concerts.
They are far more sensitive than dynamic mics - dynamic mics must be very close to the source to work well. Mini disk should work well for a concert, depending on the mic, the bass might be picked up ok, but several different mics in different positions provide the best results.
