How many calories should I eat in a day?
Hey, I'm a 14 year old female 5"5 143lbs and I'm trying to lose weight. Can anybody tell me how many calories I should I eat? I've heard about your body going into starvation mode if you eat too little and I don't want that to happen to me. How much should I eat and how much exercise should I do in order to lose 10lbs in 2 months? And before anyone says anything about it, I like counting calories because it allows me to really take note of everything I put into my body. Thanks heaps.

take in about 1200 calories a day, and lay off the carbs (like sphagetti and rice and that sort of stuff). what worked for me is that i keep a little book and each day i write my weight on the top of the page and then i write everything i eat and how many calories it is. that way it's plain in my face. and eat alot of fruit and vegetables (i eat about 4 peaches and 4 oranges a day). that way when you're hungry you're filling yourself up with things that your body takes time to break down and so your blood sugar won't sky rocket and your body won't store it as fat.i have not had a starchy thing (except cheerios) in the past 2 weeks. i'm down 6 pounds and it's working. at that rate you'll be down 24 pounds by the end of the summer, looking good and loving it!
