Who do you think are the 3 best left tackles of all time?
My votes go in order:
Anthony Munoz - 11 pro-bowls, left tackle speed with right tackle power and mentality, dominated year after year would violently maul whoever was opposite him. The best ever.
Jonathan Ogden - A monster, 11 pro-bowls, moved fast and could cut off the edge easily, would maul multiple linemen at once on the snap, physically unmatched for size and power.
Tony Bosselli - Like Munoz, was the prototype offensive tackle for his era, tall, fast, strong, dominated in the pass and the run, and was extremely disciplined. His career was slowed some by injuried.
Honorable mention to: Art Shell, Dan Dierdorf, Jackie Slater (allrounders who wouldnt have had the size or power to compete today)
Orlando Pace, Walter Jones (Pace has been injury prone and Jones took years to be dominant, both are better pass blockers than run blockers.)
Hmm... It's really only a question on about who the third is because Munoz and Ogden are a clear 1-2.
I think I'll go with Art Shell for #3.
