What 4x10 bass cab should I get?
I'm going to be getting this

Along with a brand new bass. I need a nice 4x10 cab to go along with it, but I don't know what I should get, I need something loud enough to where I can play decent size shows and not be drowned out by an acoustic drum-set. Also, is it okay to make a cab that handles 400 watts with a 400 watt head? I honestly don't know much about amplifiers, only the instruments themselves.
Well the loudness is determined by your amp, not the cab. If you've got a 400W head, then you want a cab designed to handle at least 400W. It's better to be on the safe side and get something that will handle more than that (perhaps 500W).
You also need to make sure that the impedances match. Impedance is how much a circuit opposes an electrical signal. It is measured in Ohms, which are indicated by the Greek letter omega (Ω). If your amp is designed to put out 400W of power at 8Ω, and you've got a cab that takes 500W at 4Ω, then the amp will have to work harder and will likely get damaged. Most amplifiers have a knob or switch on the back to select the output impedance.
I'd also recommend something larger than 10" speakers... at least 12's, but 15's would be better. Larger cones are needed to reproduce the lower frequencies of a bass. A 10" speaker is fine in a little combo amp because you're looking for something small and portable, but if you're going to have a big cab, why not have one that can actually produce some good, full, low tones?
