I'm thinking of selling my Remmington .270 (left-handed) w/scope. It's a 1984 model near mint condition.?
How much should I see this for? What is the actual monetary value? I do know that any left-handed rifle is hard to come by unless you special order. I don't hunt often enough and this sitting in a gun safe seems such a waste. Thanks.
Hi Matthew. Thanks for your reply. I actually paid $425.00 for this rifle out of the local paper. The seller had over 40 calls for this rifle AFTER he promised it to me. I also called 3 gun shops with my question. I was told that I could get up to 1100.00 for this rifle due it being near-mint condition, the quality of the scope alone and it being a left-handed gun. So it sounds like I could make a profit at any rate, being I only paid 425.00 for it. I'm wanting to sell it for a treadmill, can you believe it?! I may change my mind, however. After all, I'll never be able to afford this rifle again, I'm sure.
Should you sell it? That's up to you. Would I ? Absolutely not! Consider what it would cost to replace it, or try to find another in the same condition yours is in. It took me 4 years to find a 870 lefty for my son at gun shows. Buying a new one was out of the question. Just go to a few shows and see how many left handed long guns you see. Not many. If you need a treadmill, check the newspaper classifieds, garage sales, or moving sales. Change your mind. You will be glad you did!
