do i need a PCI sound card?
ok i just purchased a 5.1 surround sound system, and was wondering whether i will need to get myself a pci 5.1 sound card, or whether there will be the ports i need already on my mother board...
im using an ASUS P5N-D mother board, very new, came out in october. will i be able to run the full 5.1 sound system i purchased or will i have to get a 5.1 PCI sound card?

Yes you will be able to run full 5.1 system on that motherboard. The onboard sound will be sufficient for most things. If you're really finicky about sound though, you'll want to get an new sound card like Creative X-Fi. they cost more but sound a lot better, if your ear is sensitive enough.
