Which speakers do I need in order to get good sound from a miked drum set?
I want to get a microphone kit to mic my drum set (standard five piece drum). I have looked into an Audix Fusion 7 mic kit since I read good reviews about it and it's not too expensive...
Once I get the mics hooked up and everything, I was wondering what type of speakers I would need to get a good, deep metal or hard rock sound. I want to know good speaker set-ups, what type of speaker I need and so on.
I play with a band and we're starting to do bigger shows (300 people venues) in bigger rooms, so micing my drum would be cool. If possible, I'd like to get a set-up loud enough so that people can feel the bass drum in their body.
Since the speakers have to handle low frequencies you will need a pair of 15" to 18" speakers and tweeters for cymbals and snare. For the low frequencies speakers a "Bass-reflex" enclose will help you to get a good sound.
