What do you think of the Lennon "Plastic Ono Band"?
love is real. real is love. love is asking to be loved. love is knowing we can be
And please don't mention Yoko because she made no contribution to this album at all.
I think this one of the most heartfelt and emotional albums I have ever had the pleasure listening to. It is heavy, redeeming and oddly entertaining at the same time. Lennon manages to convey his innermost emotions into something the average listener can understand. I am someone who has has a tough life and listening to this album is almost therapeutic for me. I can relate in many ways. I am surprised that is not mentioned more with Beatles or Lennon fans. Am I the one one feels this about that album?
Speaking as a major Beatles fan, I can assure you that you are not the only one who feels this way, I frequently mention the album in my answers in R&P and do what I can to spread the word about this personal and magnificent recording. My favorite John Lennon album, from the stately opening bells that announce the harrowing Mother to the closing laundry list of Ideals that he no longer places his faith that comprise the song God, the album is an unflinching look at John's emotions recently laid bare in Primal Scream Therapy. Yes, I understand living through tumultuous emotional experiences, my life has been marked by abuse and grief, and yet I continue to find solice in Lennon's remarkable songs.
