Problem with getting microphone to work after hooking it into presonus firebox.?
I have a presonus firebox and a shure pg58-xlr microphone. I have installed the firebox and connected it to my computer. My manual said that if i hook up the firebox via a 6 point firewire connector that i do not need a power supply. I have the blue light on. I hook my mic into the firebox, but i do not get any power going to the mic. i do not know why not. i looked through the manual and it said to try to turn the 48V on/off. done that still doesnt work. do i need a seperate power supply cord? please help!!!!!
Is it the mic below? Then it's a dynamic mic, it doesn't need phantom power. I don't think you've damaged it by having the phantom power on, but with some mics you do.
So recheck your connections, and if you can't figure it out, take the mic to a music store or check it some other way, to make sure it still works.
