Why is the customer always right? I have to hear them all day long...?
Customers call and say that the technician never came to install their cable, the tech says he went and no one came to the door. Customer orders 9 porno movies and wants credit given on their accoun, but manager says 9 movies is too many "errors ordering".
So what can I say to these screaming customers who call me every rude name in the book. I have to be professional on the phone,(although I mute my speaker and call them rude names)....but...the customer is always right.
You do have to be professional, up to a point. When someone is truly abusive and not just angry and upset and it becomes personal, then you can tell them to call later when they calm down a bit and hang up on them. I used to be in collections and we were allowed to do that, actually we were encouraged to do that. No point in trying to talk to someone who won't stop yelling.
