how much money can one make by selling a patent for a pharmaceutical drug?
I need a credible source, perhaps a news article that details how much a scientist made by selling a patent to a large company. Any, I repeat, ANY thing from a credible source helps.

You should prepare a business plan & then then look for sponsors. As far as valuation of a patent is concerned, there are various ways, but since you have not mentioned whether or not you've filed the provisional patent application it will be hard for you to secure back-up for your project. Also don't blow the trumpet about your possible invention otherwise you'll reduce your chances of getting any kind of IP protection. So keep these things in mind before making your moves.
