Question for [serious] Christians: Do you believe that the earth is 6000-9000 years old?
If you do, how do you reconcile your belief with the bulk of historical, archeological and biological evidence that the human species is millions of years old and the earth is billions of years old? -- e.g., the 30,000 year old mine in Uganda, the 1.8 million year old hominid, Lucy, found in Ethiopia in 1974, the oldest pre-human fossils dated around 5 million years old, several locations in Africa with detailed fossil records of human beings (homo sapiens) ... I could go on the list of evidence, but you get the point: A lot of available evidence contradicts the belief of some Christians that the earh is 6000-9000 years old. How do you reconcile your belief when it conflicts with available evidence?
They usually just deny that the evidence is valid in any way at all.
I once saw one of them say that science is only right when it doesn't contradict the Bible. I don't even know what to say to statement like that.
