I'm looking to become a DJ, is this good equipment to get for starters? Is there anything else I would need?
This is the equipment I will be buying for $800:
2 peavey 118 speaker cabinets with Horn , Midrange and 18" subs , 1 Numark dj mixer , 1 Peavey cs 1000 power amp , 1 elation light controller , 1 power supply all in slant rack case , also have empty 8 space case , 1 light tree with 12" stand and 4 elation pin spots $800
Is this a good deal? Someone please help
Thanks Jeremy
I'm a little confused. The Peaveys, are the 18" in the cab with the mid and horns? If they are that sounds heavy. Being a DJ means lugging around equipment. Weight is very important. Especially when you have to go up and down stairs. Also I would never put the amp in a rack with other equipment. The amp should be by itself. For weight and heat purposes of course. 1 Numark mixer? What kind of mixer. This could be a $50 mixer or a $500 mixer. CS1000, This is a little small for 18" speakers. The lights are simple. The controller is most likely a chaser for the pin spots. Pin spots don't give off that much light. I don't see any turntables, or CD decks. Does this include speaker cables? $800 seems a little high to me. Than again, I cant find any info on the Peavey 118. I only see 118 sub's.
Here's my take on the USED equipment.
Peavey cs 1000 - $200
Peavey 118 speaker cabs - ? (need info)
Mixer - $25-$100 (? which mixer)
Light setup - $50-$75
Rack n Power Supply - $50
All the rest depends on the speakers.
