Question for Adult Guitar Players: Who is more talented? Jimmy Page or Stevie Ray Vaughan?
Please try not to be biased and elaborate on your answer.
This has to be one of the hardest questions I have ever seen on these "page"s- no pun intended
I love SRV, and would place him either 4 or 5 in my all time "Guitarist" list. However, I have to be honest and state that a fair percentage of this high rating is that I regard him as being the only person who has covered tracks by my #1 better than Hendrix himself originally did. "Little Wing" is a classic example:

Also, he did some really classy "new" stuff as well, and Double Trouble were a class outfit. I would never hear a bad word about him, as technically and "soul wise" he was brilliant.
Jimmy Page? Umm....a bit like Townsend with The Who, or Brian May with Queen, he had to "adapt" his style to fit his Band Members who were great Musicians in their own right, as much, of course, as the Band Members had to "adapt" to him. None of these "lead", just worked "along with" in a supremely brilliant fashion, and possibly that takes more "talent".
So, by the proverbial nose, Page.
