good quality studio speaker monitors?
im trying to find some good studio monitors for my small home studio.
note its a home studio, so im not going to be looking at anything over the four hundred mark. i need something speakers that are as accurate as possible.
Hmm not over the 400 mark? Because I was going to suggest Genelecs but they are around £300 each... I use them in the studio and I'm always astonished by the sound those things kick out.
A good alternative are Yamaha monitors, either the ones with the white or yellow ring (not sure which ones unfortunately) or a brand called 'ADAM' which I'm quite familiar with too.
If you're in a large city perhaps try head down to a music tech store, many have a rack with lots of monitors, a track on loop and a push button system so you can directly compare between the various monitors.
If you're tight on a budget, though, I recommend the high-output monitor series by Edirol from Roland, my first pair of monitors (The MA series, I think)
