Is this a good guitar/pedal setup for home recording?
Alright, I'm a metal player first of all and i know nothing out of this equipment is made for metal but i do get a decent sound out of it, was just wondering if there was anything I could do better: I run my long patch cord from my epiphone SG to my danlectro cool cat distortion, to my digitech RP50 module pedal, to my marshall mg15dfx, through my headphone jack on my marshall through a Lightsnake home studio cable into my computer, and I use a multitude of recording/editing programs. would this be enough to write and produce an album professionally?
Professionally no, but there are other things you can do to increase the quality of your song. First thing you need to do is to figure out which equipment is the right equipment for you. What I would do is to join a community or forum of like-minded individuals. People who record music like you do.
Here is a forum that Im a part of , and get a ton of information from: http://www.audioneeds.com - I'm sure you will find a TON of answers there.
