Need to rent a utility trailer to move for school any others than uhaul?
Hi,
in little more than than a month I'm moving across country for school. I need to rent a trailer thats pull-able by small suv. I've checked uhaul and they want $479 plus taxes and fees. I've heard A LOT of bad stuff about them and really don't usually like to use them. Is there anything other than uhaul that I can use? the "you pack, we drive" stuff is all well over a thousand dollars. I can't afford that, and really can't even afford the near $500 that uhaul is asking for. For that I can just refurnish my place down there. I really don't want to have to do that. Help anyone? Please remember that it has to be pulled by an suv not a commercial truck, that leaves ryder and penske out.

Unfortunately, Penske, Budget & Ryder only rent trucks - no trailers. That rather limits your options. U-Haul is your only option for a trailer rental.
If you tow a trailer with your SUV, your gas mileage is going to take a hit, and you'll be slower. Sit down and add the cost of extra gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, and YOUR time, wear and tear, and extra meals and motels into the equation. It may be that refurnishing at your destination is your best option.
