Problems with my new Omron HBF-510W body composition monitor and scale?
I just purchased an Omron HBF-510W body composition monitor and scale. I read through the instruction manual, inserted the batteries, set up my user profile (gender, height, age), and tried to weigh myself. It keeps giving me readings of between 70-80 lbs. And, yes, it's set to lbs, not kgs. (I'm about 130, so this is WAY off.) I took the batteries out and put them back in, tried it on carpet and hardwood floors, and still, I keep getting this very inaccurate reading. I reset it to kg and it gave me an approximately 35kg reading. Of course, since it thinks I'm 75lbs, it can't even get to the stage of doing my body composition - it just keeps saying "Err4" at that stage, which apparently means that my body composition is out of its measuring range. Has anyone had a similar problem and been able to fix it? I'd really like to know if I can fix it by some simple means before I send it back for a replacement. Thanks for any help you can give!
If you did everything right and it still does not work its broke. Sounds like an internal problem with the Err4 code. Will need to send it back for replacement.
