What things in math do you wish there were formulas for?
For example, I wish there were a formula for figuring out the possible unknown lengths of the legs of a triangle when you know the hypotenuse. What about you guys?
It wouldn't make sense to have that formula. A triangle of fixed hypotenuse has infinite possibilities for the lengths of the other two sides.
Your question is a little strange, because if there are things in maths which formulae could possibly exist for, then those formula DO exist.
Like, I would certainly be interested if there was a formula for solving a quintic equation (ax^5 + bx^4 + ... + f = 0) but unfortunately one does not exist, and never will.
I guess one of the biggest things mankind would love to know would be to know a formula for finding the prime numbers.
